Well who else did you think would write it? (thanks for the idea ericTHEpinch, lol)I just read Nate Carson's new Voivod Bio on vv.com, it's really well written (even if the font is diffcult to read ) and comprehensive, but not the complete inside scoop. For example, Voivod weren't really teenagers when they started (Piggy was 21, even the Americans recognize that as adulthood) and it's not really true that Eric stepped down - according to him, in his interview on Greg Godin's site, he was told the band was breaking up. But those are minor points, my only real beef with this bio is the statement that Voivod were "somewhat foresaken in their homeland for deigning to sing in English instead of French." That's not true. First of all their homeland is Canada, a country of two languages (primarily English). Second of all the Province of Québec was very supportive of Voivod, they achieved all the highs possible as a metal band - selling out the Spectrum for example. They weren't marketed to English Canada, but they didn't have any representation as they initially signed to a U.S. label. All of the self-promotion that went on in the early days was obviously in their own backyard, hence more people in Québec were tuned into them. That problem with this kind divisive statement is it gives the impression that francophones reject anything done in English and also discounts the number of Anglophones in the Province. Just my opinion.

Oh, i had issues with Yuri "My name's in the Phobos cd so i must be important!" Jossa. First, the Blacky interview (that Greg did) ... his first in years, which took hours to translate, then he wrote somethin' like "i fixed all the grammatical errors".. Oh fuck you! Like you wouldve done a better job yourself... Boy was I ever fuckin' insulted! Like, i gave tons of hours for a band that i love, and you're gonna disrespect me for so-called "grammatical errors?" (not to mention that he posted that very interview on his website WITHOUT Greg givin' him the go-ahead... jackass). Shut the fuck up. Then later when he wanted to get all sorts of things "out of kindness" meaning "I dont trade but since i run the official website i'm expecting free shit"... Fuck you too! I gave Blacky all sorts of vids from the time he was in the band out of kindness (dare i say friendship?) cuz he needed to have that stuff... not some asshole with a god complex who thinks he,s the only authority in all things Voivod. Plus, that fuckin' imported faggot never even linked my fuckin' 'vod website when i ran it, but kept botherin' me for fuckin' photos and whatever. Fuck you again! Yuri, i know you're reading this, so know that the Skul doesnt like you and never will. Fuck off.

Hi Nate!Great to see a post from you! I really liked that Write-up! You are really Talented, man. I also have grown weary of the "Cold War" going on. Think about it like this folks... VOIVOD is such a great Band...they need TWO Websites! Time to move on and get ready for some NEW VOIVOD!!! Great things on the Horizon.

You guys have written more than enough on the subject.Anyway, my impressions on Yuri, even not having anything against him really, aren't quite good. Not as bad as Skul's, but not good either. Once I contacted him 'bout doin' an interview with anyone in the band for my humble brazilian website (being from Brazil and not belonging to the metal press does not make things like contacts that easy), so I asked him for any information on how to contact them (any member's e-mail, management e-mail or whatever). Voivod never had ANY support here in Brazil (press here are more concerned 'bout metal's latest trend, which, in Brazil, seems to be perpetually that Helloween-esque kind of crap, like Stratovarius or Rhapsody), so I thought it would be cool for someone to start it up. I called the guy sometimes, but never got an answer. Maybe that's because I never shared cool stuff with him, who knows... Anyway, nevermind. I'm also with the guys who want the end of this "Cold War". I actually think the two sites do a brilliant job on supporting our dearest band, and that's what matters, above any personal problem with who runs which site. No offense meant.

Not really my cup of tea to call out names, ha... Just to tell that my impressions about Yuri are not of the most excellent. I remember the fuss about the interview he "grabbed" from Greg's site... Later I sent him the hatross scan and the answer I got read "What do you want me to do with your file?". Ok, stick it up in your arse man. It was sept '01 and still it is not posted. Now, I sent it to Warcorpse a few months ago and it was online within 24 hours! Shit, that's what I like. Corpse keeps his site alive and we all benefit from that, instead of waiting and waiting for any official news or any "slight move". More flexibility here.Warcorpse recently asserted: quote: I say "the more Voivod sites the better".
I remember there were 5 or 6 Voivod sites when I first surfed the net back in 1997. I only have a few memories of Skul's site but I remember seeing lots of great pics on it (you've had 2 versons right?). There also was Voivod.com (w/ Nothingface design), Greg's Forgotten in Space, Marcel Roy's Missing Sequences, another page by Seb, Away's Negatron site (with plenty of art), and later Away's Phobos site and then the "Voivod Interactive Website". Maybe more...

Hi. Thanks to all the people who have posted "good words" about my website (the Forgotten in Space website)Should I give you any infos about my relationship with Yuri ? No, I don't think so ... we should keep a P.M.A. (Positive Mental Attitude} right ? Just to let you know that I have run a yahoogroups (named egroups and onelist groups in the past ..) The link is Yahoogroups Right now it is not really active but in the past we have Away and later Blacky on this groups .... but as usual Away has never posted an email there !! Away is away .... right now...
