oops Indio, I just saw your other topic...corpse can you delete this one?------------------ LMAO!!! Indio, were you there? (And I like how the press beefed the story up with some news from '91, haw haw haw) Axl fans show appetite for destruction Vancouver G N' R fans riot after show cancelled Friday, November 08, 2002 VANCOUVER (CP) -- Thousands of fans rioted for about an hour outside GM Place in downtown Vancouver on Thursday night after Axl Rose, the lead singer of Guns N' Roses, failed to appear for a concert. It was to have been the first show of the rock band's North American leg of its Chinese Democracy World Tour. Police used pepper spray to disperse the rioters. There were no reports of injuries. In 1991, Rose precipitated a riot in a St. Louis suburb by jumping off the stage and attacking a fan videotaping the heavy metal band's concert. Sixty people were hurt and the Riverport Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, Mo., was wrecked. Several subsequent concerts on the band's tour were cancelled. Several lawsuits were filed and Rose was charged with assault and property damage. Rose never surrendered to face the charges and was arrested a year later by federal agents at Kennedy International Airport in New York as he returned from a European tour. He was eventually put on probation for two years and ordered to donate $50,000 to five social service organizations.

The following is a report of a local scenester's apparent shenanigans during the riot. For personal reasons this fellow's identity shall remain anonymous (I swear it wasn't me!)... As everyone knows, ***** is one of Guns N' Roses biggest fans. He has all of their albums as well as a very detailed photo album which features photos and press clippings about the band. Apparently he got up early on the morning of thursday, November 7 - the day of the failed concert - and after having a shower and drying his feathered hair and mullet with a comb and hair dryer, he shaved his face and then lovingly manicured his moustache with a pair of small scissors and a comb. And then after dousing himself quite liberally with Acqua Di Selva cologne "The chicks dig it!" he put on his tight fitting black jeans, his Japanese flag T-Shirt with matching Japanese flag bandana "Japan rules, man!", his bullet belt, his matching studded wristbands, his favorite black leather biker jacket, and finally his favorite pair of cuban stiletto boots complete with matching studded ankle bands "Chicks dig a guy with cool shoes!", he set out for his rendezvous with destiny! And what an apparition he presented to all of the attractive ladies on the skytrain as he travelled from Scott Road in Surrey to the Stadium station. As usual he was the first person to arrive at the G.M. Place "Just shows you how dedicated I am, man! Metal RULES!" and it wasn't until at least an hour later after he smoked a couple dubes and drank a fifth of Ceurvo Gold Tequila , that the next G' N' R' fans arrived. ***** spent the rest of the afternoon smoking dubes, drinking Tequila, reciting Guns N' Roses song lyrics to and with other people in the lineup, and shouting out "WHOOOOOOO, GUNS N' ROSES RULES!!! WHOOOOOOO!!!" to all people who happened to be passing by but who were not cool enough to actually attend the concert. Eventually ***** was standing at the very front of a huge lineup of at least a couple hundred people. And then he and everyone else received the unfortunate news: the concert was cancelled. "WHAT!?! OH, NO WAY MAN! THEY CAN'T DO THIS TO US!!!" Things quickly spiraled out of control after this and there is only unsubstantiated reports about what happened next. Apparently with that shocked and upset cry, ***** just went berserk. He immediatly pulled out the hidden bottle of tequila from his secret inside pocket in his leather jacket, and hurled it at the glass door in front of him immediatly causing the bottle and a large part of the door to shatter into many pieces. Needless to say that his outburst immediatly caused hundreds of other people to let loose in an orgy of loud curses, shattering glass, fistfights, alcohol drinking, and dube smoking! During the ensuing melee no one is really sure what ***** did next but at least one person reported seeing him attempt to bite the tail off a german shepard police dog while its horrified police trainer attempted to render him incapacitated with a shot of mace into his face. Someone else reported seeing him jump up and onto the back of a police cruiser and attempt to kick out its back window while screaming at the top of his lungs, "OINK, OINK, OINK, SMELLS LIKE A PIG AROUND HERE!!!" And finally there is one last report of ***** actually jumping into the same police cruiser, and screaming out at all onlookers, "HA, HA, HA, ANYONE NEED A RIDE TO SURREY?" With that, apparently a couple other G' N' R' fans jumped in the cruiser and then *****, revved the engine, did a smoke show and screamed out at the top of his lungs, "WHOOOOO!!!" as he sped away. Apparently the police cruiser was found a couple days later in the parking lot at the Barracudas strip joint in Surrey with all of its radios, computer, and other valuable items stripped out of it. Of course this incident wasn't reported to the local media because of the local police force's ongoing image problem with the locals...

No, unfortunately we have yet to meet in person. However, there is going to be a very large Scratch Records Christmas bash happening on Dec. 14 in Vancougar... Perhaps you, Blacky, and Britny may attend...? I certainly hope so! Latest Guns N' Roses No-Show Sparks Melee PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Fans at a sold-out rock show became unruly after the group Guns N' Roses failed to appear, and police were called to the concert arena, officials said. Witnesses at the First Union Center on Friday night reported angry fans yelling and cursing, some throwing bottles and chairs, and ripping up plants, but a spokesman for the arena operator denied the accounts. Several fights were reported. Police reported no major injuries. A spokesman for the arena operator said officials were called shortly after 11 p.m. Friday and told one member of Guns N' Roses was ill, and that the band would not be able to perform. He said he did not know which member was sick. Members of the audience, while unhappy, left ``in an orderly fashion,'' he said. He said police were called only as a precaution. The sold-out concert drew an estimated 14,000 fans. On Nov. 7 in Vancouver, police used pepper spray to disperse thousands of irate fans rampaging outside after a Guns N' Roses concert was canceled because lead singer Axl Rose failed to appear.
