Why do clients think they know best when they wouldn't recognize a good design if it fucked them in the arse?

Fucking idiot client of mine! Damn her 'helpful comments'.

You strike a nerve, Mr. Helicopter. A few years ago, my boss aksed me to submit some ideas for my company's homepage. I submitted several thumbnail sketches, and he picked none of them (of course) and chose one of his own ideas instead. Why did he even bother asking me for my ideas? I created the graphics based on his ideas, and they SUCK. To make it worse, we haven't updated the page since it was first designed back in 1996.

Man, I am soooo fucking bored at work today. I have absolutely no work to do, but I have to sit here and look busy while it's hot and sunny outside. This sucks the big fat one.

Clients like to both "get results" and "be in control."

It's a paradox like most aspects of industrial society. Its function is to disable higher thinking so the moneymaking can go on.

It's frustrating when you know your ideas fucking rock and that your concept slays over the crap idea your client lays on you. The alternative is to just make art for free and waste your time on the chat here. It doesn't pay the bills but whatever, the government will put you in one of those raisin farms in the end anyway.

Sigh.

We've finally been sent the Logo for the game I'm working on - by Dinsey (further sighs.) - two days after it's final submission date.
Us: "Why now? CHRIST'S FLOATING COCK! Why now after all these months of prompting and cajoling?"
Them: "We forgot."

And it's too christing wide to fit on the screen.

Last week 'M****y' - our previous publishers - sent us two burned cd's of the demo we'd sent them the week before (very standard practise, you can imagine.)
Keen to know why they'd sent us 'our own work', we emailed and got an angry response claiming that we'd never sent them anything, and had better start doing so sharpish.

It'll get worse too.

Oh yeah.. while on the subject of Dinsey.
They now tell me that the Native village I lavished care and the accumulated skill of years upon, and an integral part of the game narrative - well, it can't have any native in it, as this would be insensitive to the
tropical jungle community, or something.

What am I supposed to replace them with?
Civvie types in top hats? BMX bandits?

Do what those guys at M*x*s software did, on SimCopter. Stick a whole bunch of gay porn into the ending sequence, instead of what was originally planned. That'll show the little fuckers.

Client is always the main problem in a project. They don't known what they want and they change their mind as they will. A little trick I got is to take at least one of their idea it really helps to pass the pill. It's sometime frustrating to work in this field but anyway I prefer way more doing personnal stuff that's where the fun start.
