The naitive peoples of Canada have been on this continent for at least 15,000 years according to most theories. The oldest remains found here have been in the 7 to 8 thousand year old range.
Whenever they do street renovations/construction in our downtown area (which is near the junction of 2 rivers), they always seem to find ancient artifacts like bones, clothing, and even burial grounds and settlements. The articles are moved by the museum and native leaders contacted to give proper burial for any remains.
I will look around for some cool links for you tonight, I think they're in my old address book, backed up on CD somewhere.
