Falls on the 2nd Monday of October. I'm making pumpkin pie and fresh cranberry sauce. I'll throw my cranberry recipe up in Gastronomy Domine if anyone's interested, it beats that canned crap by a mile. Nothing is more fun than smashing those little red berries into a mushy pulp.

Sounds good. I'll probably have something unchristian because my friend Stephanie (the anti-christ herself) will be making dinner, which will no doubt be delicious. She'll be including her 4 food groups: Meat, pasta, alcohol and weed. Now that's a par-tay!

Is Thanksgiving a religious holiday in Cananda or something? BTW sounds like you will have a good time hehe!

Cranberries are so damn easy to cook, I don't understand why anybody goes for that nasty canned jelly crap! My younger brother would LIVE on cranberries if he could. It's about the only thing he knows how to cook for himself that doesn't involve a microwave.

NI, Thanksgiving is not religious but it's been incorporated into a lot of religious institutions. In Canada it was held 40 years before the first US thanksgiving when the explorer, Frobisher, gave thanks for a successful harvest. The Empire Loyalists who moved north duing the American Revolution brought their 'pilgrims and first nations peoples' ideas about Thanksgiving that are so prevelant in the US.
As for cranberries, I know some people don't like them Kane, particularly some of the violet varities. hahaha!
Does anyone here remember that Killdozer song, 'Cranberries' off the Burl EP? I always liked the part where Michael Gerald growls (like he didn't ever not growl), "don't eat the cranberries, they've gotten rotten"
