Can anyone tell me what the point of all this corpsepaint/centre parting/grimness is? I almost understand the Necro ethic - of replicating that pure 'Darkthrone with a broken 4-track c.1993' sound - but who the fucking hell are they trying to kid with these angry faces?
Each to his/her own of course, if you want to dress up like that then good on you - but whenever I see a 'serious' classic black metal photo I just think 'no girlfriend'.

yeah its gotten way outta hand nowadays. Every band trys to be more evil and scarier then the next, but once its been done its been dones. Black Metal IMO is pretty much a joke nowadays and bands that think it's ''trendy'' and ''cool'' shouldnt get record contracts. Black metal will always be a thing of the past IMO. Just stick with the classics of the genre, NME, HELLHAMMER, VENOM, CELTIC FROST, SODOM, etc!

I agree with you Head Villain. The photos are a never-ending source of entertainment for me. I think of Slipcock, ICP and Mudvayne as going a bit too far, if only because for the most part, I don't care for their music. But, there again, another source of good guffaws. Whenever ICP comes to town the kids lined up outside the venue are fucking high-larious! I suppose it makes them feel "different".

Goofy looks, brilliant music.
