Mais, quand il a réalisé qu'il ne survivrait pas à son cancer du colon, il a demandé à ce qu'on lui en apporte une, et de son lit d'hôpital, il a enregistré les interludes acoustiques immortalisés sur Katorz, l'avant-dernier album de Voïvod. L'histoire de la guitare acoustique, c'est un Jason Newsted (bassiste) très enthousiaste qui l'a racontée aux journalistes venus entendre les 10 nouvelles chansons de Voïvod, qui sont également le testament musical d'un guitariste légendaire. Le batteur Michel Langevin se réjouit aussi d'avoir su transposer sur disque la volonté et l'originalité musicale de son ami Piggy. Sa joie est cependant teintée d'amertume puisque la parution de Katorz se déroule sans son ami de longue date. C'est aussi le début de la fin pour le groupe, qui ne compte pas le remplacer. "Comment le pourrait-on? " dit-il. En effet. Katorz, un album à la fois aventureux, accrocheur et extrêmement efficace sur le plan de la réalisation, sera disponible en juin sur The End Records. Notez que Voïvod garde encore quelques compositions en banque et prévoit lancer un ultime album en 2007. (Christine Fortier)

Denis "Piggy" D’Amour had never had acoustic guitar before the summer 2005. But, when he realized that he would not survive his cancer of the colonist, he asked to bring one to him, and from his hospital bed, he recorded the acoustic interludes immortalized on Katorz, the last but one album from Voïvod. The history of the acoustic guitar, it is Jason Newsted (bass player) very enthusiastic which told it with the journalists come to hear the 10 new songs of Voïvod, which are also the musical will of a legendary guitarist.
