here you are.... Ok ...I needed a new guitar (a real one, not a cheap trick like my old b.c. rich ehehehe...) so I decided, instead to buy a regular one, to get for almost the same price a very personal and unique custom instrument. So I did contact Mauro on his web site he's a very cool person.... I always loved the work he did for both Piggy and Blacky. His works are a pieces of art. And it was exactly what I was looking for: something typical Voivod shape and groove on it in order to make my bad experimental thrash with my band (http://www.myspace.com/n3onmetal) ok, let's go with some specs....So, it's a bolt-on neck model based on the famous Piggy's flying-v body.It has a 22 fret fingerboard made in maple but clear (like stratocaster) not dark as in the Piggy model. Maple is very warm and is the best wood in my opinion. Pickup on the bridge position is a dimarzio x-2n I think it sound amazing, and more powerful than the Distortion. The one on the neck position is also a dimarzio humbucker. As for the bridge I am not a big fan of mobile bridge systems (like Floyd Rose, ecc...) and I wanted something quite old-fashioned and Mauro suuggested me this Kahler vibrato that I think it's amazing. There's also only one volume under the bridge pickup and a strat style toggle sitch so I can have five different sounds, instead of only three (another great suggestion by mauro). If you have other questions ask me without problems Speaking with Blacky he then told me he wanted to release with Mauro a Voivod serie, bass and guitar based on this design called WWIII, that of course related to one of the Voivod song "build your weapon", but after I don't know what happened... As for the price don't think that a custom model would bee too expensive! Now I don't know what are the prices of guitars in your country. Also prices of a custom model can be several and will depend much on the components one can choose. But I can say that I paid for that one less than for a Gibson SG. But now I have an equal great quality guitar and most important is unique.
