Can any of you Wacken regulars give me a rough idea on when this festival usually sells out? Just wanna know how long I can leave it until I gotta blow the dust off my credit card!

I would make sure to have them as soon as possible.They usually sell out pretty damn early. Maiden again, Slayer so think "better safe than sorry"

We drink beer well together. Would suck to miss out that thing.

Our tickets arrived today

Edited the thread title (Gaaah). The excitement has settled a bit now.

Gojira added to the list now. With them, Amorphis, and Voivod this is already a way better bill (for me) than the last time we went. And I had tons o' fun that time!

(Still hoping they'll add Finntroll though. New album in a month!)

We're going by bus. There a bunch of buses picking people up from different places.
1 hour by train -> on the bus -> bus stops at the Wacken entrance :-)

We should arrange so that we can camp together.
We're arriving on the Wednesday already, just to be able to relax and find a good spot.

That would indeed suck. From Malmö it's about 6.5 hours on the bus, but it leaves at 1:30 in the morning so due to the train schedules we have to go down there and hang around downtown for a few hours. Still the simplest way for us though.

You should fly to Hamburg and take the Metal Travel bus from there. They pick up at the airport and everything, and it's less than 2 hours on the bus. I don't know about total travel time from London, though. Probably still considerably less than 20 hours.

Isn't there a cheap fly with Ryanair from London to Weeze (near Dueseldorf), because it's very close to me and we have 1 spare spot in the car. That wouldn't be a problem.

Maybe we can arrange the stuf for the bbq, because we are coming by car.
