I really wished to give my condolences to Snake, Away, and Blacky with regards to Denis's "Piggy" D'Amour. When I met Piggy and Snake many years ago at WWIII in Montreal and then again in NYC at the old Ritz, I have to say that they were some of the most cordial and friendly people I had met in this industry. Back then I was starting out as a Stagehand and Rigger and through conversations with Snake and Piggy, I got an excellent perspective of what a hard driving band requires while on Stage. Also, Piggy is probably the most influential guitarist to my own style of playing from day one. His incredible cords, picking, and leads created a truly unique sound that will be, forever, my favorite sound of any metal band ever. In the several times I got to talk to him over the years, he was always great and patient with explaining certain technical things and was genuinely a very likeable and articulate person. I am so sorry to hear that he has passed away. He will never be forgotten by me and I thank him so much for bring to this world his incredible gift of music. You, Piggy, are the reason I still love playing my guitar as well as your band being one of the main reasons I became a Tour Rigger and Stagehand now going on almost 18 years. Mace R. Abrams Supervisor/Rigger Stageco, US
